Vermont Bean Pot

Boston baked beans - or any type of baked beans-always taste best when they've been cooked and served in a traditional handmade stoneware bean pot. These pots look right at home in either a traditional or  a more contemporary setting. The medium size comfortably holds the cooked equivalent of one 1 lb. package of dried beans. The large size easily holds the cooked equivalent of 2 lbs. of beans. Please note: Glaze colors are a digital approximation only. Actual colors and textures may vary slightly.

Tocco Terra Pottery

Tocco Terra means “I touch earth” and is an expression to say something is grounded, or has landed, which captures in both cases how Veronica DeLay feels about being a potter. We hope you will enjoy her work.

The designs are inspired by an interest in Medieval and Renaissance art of all mediums. Veronica studied the small details carved into wood or stone, and plants and animals found in a fresco or a tapestry. Often she selects a decorative element or image from an illuminated manuscript or a pattern from a Roman mosaic floor.

The pots are made by hand and the decoration is painted freehand, one at a time. To give the piece a nice patina and a feeling of antiquity, crazing will happen naturally over time. The pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe and no lead or toxic materials of any kind are used in the making.
